We need your help!

10425050_10206006808875217_1684208147389264435_nThere’s a crisis in Cape St. Claire. I’m being serious.

This man, Tim Mahoney. Look at him – posing outside of the school. Selling himself out to raise money and awareness. That hat, the makeup, that hanging rope, those striped black and white sneakers. He has no coat on. No long underwear. Did you see that temperature this morning (I did – it was 3 with the wind chill). 3!

This is sacrifice.

We don’t want him to have to make this kind of sacrifice again. If we don’t raise enough money – if we don’t pack the Anne Arundel Community College with enough Cape St. Claire residents who long for a good party, who desire hanging Smartboards for their children; then he’ll be forced to wear it again on February 28th, outside of the entrance to the Dining Hall just like a Walmart greeter.

Minus the Walmart.

Please, help him. Please, help us. Please, help your children. Come to Mardi Gras, February 28th at 7pm at Anne Arundel Community College in the Dining Hall. Rub elbows with your neighbors, dance on tables, donate money to charity, win baskets of prizes, have fun.

Here’s your link:

Make the purchase, get a sitter, have a good time, celebrate. Tim Mahoney thanks you.

Holiday Shop is coming December 11&12!

941852_10152024172783724_1394781174_nThe Holiday season is in full swing and Heather Kilpatrick is excited for everyone to come and join the PTO for their annual Holiday Shop.

We thought about renaming the Holiday Shop this year to The Kilpatrick’s Holiday Shop. Why? I did a quick internet search and found that Heather has been doing the shop since 2007.

From the CSCPTO Website from November 2007:

“Holiday Secret Shop (Chair: Heather Kilpatrick) Fundraiser on behalf of Destination Imagination. Help with the fun child-oriented event scheduled for early December. Volunteers needed to shop for sale items and help on the day of event. This was a very popular and exciting evening for the kids last year. Please help make this an annual event.”

Heather loves doing this event and it shows. It’s a GREAT and inexpensive way for your children to pick up a little something for all of us parents; for our hard work and efforts, for our love, and for buying them their new iPads.

There will be exciting new items this year for Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, your pets and your teachers.

[alert type=”info” close=”no”]Children whose last names begin with A-M will shop on Thursday, December 11th.[/alert] [alert type=”info” close=”no”]Children whose last names begin with N-Z will shop on Friday, December 12th.[/alert]

Times are from 4-7pm in the Media Center. Heather hopes to see you all there. (Oh, and so does the rest of the PTO too!)

Further details and a calendar reminder can be found here. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated so contact Heather for more details.

Book Fair – Book of the Day for Friday 11-21-2014

349974
It’s TGIF and what a better way to celebrate Friday than by visiting the Book Fair today! It’s open until 8pm and don’t forget about the Teacher Silent Auction and Sno Cones from 6:30 to 8pm. We hope to see you there.

As has been the custom this week, we bring you today’s Book of the Day, courtesy of Creepy Carrots by Aaron Reynolds. From the website:

“In this Caldecott Honor Book, The Twilight Zone comes to the carrot patch as a rabbit fears his favorite treats are out to get him. Jasper Rabbit loves carrots ? especially Crackenhopper Field carrots. He eats them on the way to school. He eats them going to Little League. He eats them walking home. Until the day the carrots start following him…or are they?”

This book is perfect for the 1st through the 3rd grade. Interested in purchasing this book? You can do so by clicking here to order it online and give our book fair credit or stop by the Book Fair in the Cape St. Claire Elementary School Media Center until 8pm!

Have a great Friday!
