AACPS Apps Explained

AACPS is going to be using several apps to access grading for students this year.

You must activate your AACPSConnect/ClassLinks account. The steps to do that can be found at https://www.aacps.org/o/aacps/page/aacpsconnect You will also need the specific codes & logins for your student AACPS sent to you earlier in the summer.

For day-to-day use and monitoring of grades that will be done using the Canvas LMS NOT PowerSchool.

  • All grades will only be entered by teachers into the Canvas LMS, and families will also view student grades there.

  • PowerSchool will be disabled for grades teachers & parents until report card time.

  • PowerSchool for families will only be used for forms and attendance for day-to-day use.

Here is a link that outlines some of those specifics. https://www.aacps.org/o/aacps/page/canvas-parent-guardian.

On your phone's app store, I suggest downloading the ClassLink app and the Canvas Parent app (Blue icon).  Once you register your AACPS Connect account, you will be able to log into ClassLink.  Once logged into ClassLink, you can click on Canvas on your parent ClassLink page, and it will automatically open your Canvas Parent app and log you in.  When setting up the Canvas Parent app, search for Anne Arundel County public schools instead of our specific school.

Canvas Parent is where you will be able to view your child's grades for each course. Canvas parent will show you the kid(s), class, and grades all in one place. You can also click into the class and see the breakdown of assignments and points/grades for each assignment and final grade.

Thank you to Mrs. Smith for putting this together. We will continue to add resources as they become available.
